Coremetrics , the leader in marketing optimization, today announced new enhancements to Coremetrics Impression Attribution™ that enable businesses to accurately analyze how Facebook presence and investments drive key business objectives, such as website sales, orders and conversion events. Fully integrated into the Coremetrics Continuous Optimization Platform™ , Impression Attribution links individual visits to Facebook fan pages, exposures to Facebook ads, and interactions with Facebook applications to subsequent website visits, behaviors and conversions, enabling marketers to measure the return on investment (ROI) of their campaigns. Coremetrics clients have complete control over what information they wish to collect and analyze, from simple demographic information and activity level, to more sophisticated attribution metrics.

“Seton Hall University requires measurable results from Facebook and other forms of social media,” said Robert Brosnan, director of web and digital communications, Seton Hall University. “The university is focused on tying Facebook investments directly to specific metrics, such as student enrollment. Coremetrics approach to quantifying Facebooks contribution to the bottom line, grounded in the broader analysis of the contributions of other impression-based campaigns such as syndicated videos, rich Internet applications and micro-sites, is an extremely sophisticated, market-leading take on social media analytics.”

While existing solutions depend on link clicks to associate Facebook interactions with website behaviors, Impression Attribution measures the impact that Facebook has on the business by fully capturing both click-through and view-through visitor activity. View-through refers to users who visit Facebook and in a later period arrive indirectly at the businesss website via a different channel, such as paid search. In that case, Impression Attribution will assign credit to Facebook for its role in influencing the website visit.

Impression Attribution uses a lightweight process to intelligently identify a visitors exposure to a brands content. Businesses can send any information they want through Impression Attribution. They can deploy static impression tags on their fan pages via Facebooks Static FBML application, or dynamically in Facebook apps and custom tabs. For instance, they can leverage the Facebook API to access user profile or activity information and seamlessly integrate it into the Coremetrics Continuous Optimization Platform. Coremetrics Impression Attribution will then report on website sales, orders, conversion events and other business-impacting metrics that were associated with that Facebook information.

All data collection conforms to Facebooks Terms of Service, its commitment to user privacy, and the privacy settings selected by each individual user.

Ground-Breaking Project Will Grow Customer Bases and Increase ROI for
Content Providers and Advertisers

AMSTERDAM — Irdeto,
a leading expert in content and business model protection solutions and
services, today announced that middleware and interactive TV technology
provider Selevision has selected Irdeto’s middleware solution and
conditional access system (CAS) for its new High Definition Personal
Video Recorders (HD PVRs). The HD PVRs, currently in field testing in
Saudi Arabia, will enable content providers to run highly tailored
advertisements – a market first in the Middle East. In addition,
Selevisions HD PVRs will be protected by Irdetos CAS and secure chip
set – another first for the region – to allow the company to
comprehensively secure premium content, while delivering a personalized
experience for consumers, through uniquely selected programs and
commercials.

“Irdeto’s technology meets our needs for a flexible solution that
enables us to deliver targeted content to consumers, while protecting it
against piracy, which continues to be rife in this region,” said Dr.
Raed Khusheim, CEO and founder of Selevision. “Irdetos solution allows
us to constantly enhance our targeted advertising capabilities. Irdeto
was a natural choice for us, given the company’s proven track record of
delivering industry-leading conditional access solutions in the Middle
East. We look forward to expanding our services to other regions, and to
continuing to work with Irdeto.”

According to Informa,
at the end of 2014, the Middle East and North Africa region will have
approximately 50 million multichannel TV homes. This means that more
than 70 percent of households will have either cable or satellite
television. In response to this growth as well as the need to
differentiate themselves to both advertisers and viewers, Selevision
selected Irdeto’s industry-leading middleware technology to empower
advertisers to effectively reach a wide range of viewers with ads that
are directly relevant to consumers.

“The advanced features and functionality that the Selevision HD PVR
offers to consumers and advertisers is a testimony to the maturity that
Irdeto middleware has reached,” stated David Canellos, senior vice
president, sales and marketing for Irdeto. “The Middle Eastern market is
ripe for innovation, and the ability to reach viewers with targeted
advertising is increasingly important, as audiences are progressively
looking for content that is personalized and relevant.”

ability to measure the source of a phone call can dramatically increase
the overall ROI of a campaign — as well as clearly display a campaign’s
true performance.

In addition to discussing how marketers can use call analytics to

Sir Ranulph, the oldest Briton to reach the summit of Mount Everest, was left dazed and bloodied following the collision in Stockport on Saturday afternoon. His Jaguar hit a Nissan Micra travelling in the opposite direction on the A6, then struck a Ford Focus before it mounted a pavement and came to a halt near the front window of an Italian restaurant. Sir Ranulph, 67, was uninjured but was taken to hospital. The male driver of the Nissan suffered leg injuries which were not thought to be life-threatening.

High-Brightness and Advanced Color Management Make This New Model
Ideal For Those With the Most Discerning Image Quality Needs

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. — Canon U.S.A., Inc, a leader in digital imaging, today announced the
launch of the REALiS SX7 Mark II Multimedia LCOS Projector. This new
model combines the award-winning features of REALiS projectors with an
impressive 4000 lumens of brightness and a Photo Image Mode to assist
users with advanced color management and adjustments for ambient
lighting conditions.

The Photo Image Mode allows users to easily make changes to improve the
look and feel of the content being projected. Within this mode the Color
Level and Color Temperature functions allow for fine-tuning of both the
intensity of colors and the color temperature by selecting from
easy-to-use presets. In addition, the Photo Image Mode includes an
Ambient Light function which can be used to compensate for lighting
conditions for both the type of lighting (Tungsten, Fluorescent and
Fluorescent H) and intensity (Low, Medium or High). The ambient light
function is ideal for users displaying content and cannot control the
lighting conditions – such as educators speaking in classrooms or
photographers showing their work in an art museum/gallery or at a
seminar. The functions available in the Photo Image Mode allow users
greater control of color reproduction and image quality.

“Whether presenting photographs, videos, presentations, or any other
content, the color accuracy and amount of ambient light will play a
major role in the perceived quality of work,” said Yuichi Ishizuka,
executive vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group,
Canon U.S.A. “The high-brightness and Photo Image Mode included on the
REALiS SX7 Mark II allows users to display their images with outstanding
detail and superb quality.”

The REALiS SX7 Mark II Multimedia LCOS Projector features advanced LCOS
(Liquid Crystal on Silicon) technology with Canon’s patented,
proprietary AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) Optical Engine. This
advanced technology, combined with the projectors SXGA (1400 x 1050)
native resolution and 4000 lumens of brightness, delivers extraordinary
detailed, lattice-free motion and still images. This combination makes
the REALiS SX7 Mark II ideal for classrooms, meeting/board rooms, photo
studios and seminars/conferences.

Now heres what someone is liable to call a post-feminist conundrum: Wags or not? Modern women in modern, albeit bling- encrusted, relationships who take a serious interest in their partners careers, or deeply irritating eye candy? Discuss. For lets be honest: for some sections of my trade, the wives and girlfriends phenomenon is a sight more interesting than anything liable to happen on the field of play in South Africa. The precedent established by the last tournament, not to mention the torrid tale of Tel, makes gender relationships news. And news affects football. The motordrives are ready, the diary columns primed. If Im any judge, wily sub-editors will already have a few made-to-measure headlines ready. One prequel is in draft: will Mrs Terry brave the media in South Africa? If so, mayhem. If not, mayhem. Since husband John is already looking erratic on the park, all of this matters, absurd as that sounds. Self-evidently, certain affairs – I almost said of the heart – have already cost Capello a captain and an option in defence. He has tried to isolate the players partners to extend the concentration spans, such as they are, of the menfolk. An early attempt was made to create an offshore Wag Republic, but already they are staking out locales closer to the team.

Colin Fleming has waited several years to make an impression in the Davis Cup but yesterday he made up for lost time as he and Ken Skupski put Britain in a winning position in their Europe/Africa Group II tie in Vilnius. Flemski, as the pair are affectionately known on the tour, survived a courageous challenge from Dovydas Sakinis and Laurynas Grigelis to win 6-0, 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 and put Britain 2-1 up. Having most of his family, plus a travelling brigade of fans from Linlithgow who did their best to drown out the locals inside the Vitus Gerulaitis Memorial Tennis Centre, to support the AEGON GB team clearly helped their cause. But they were fully deserving of their win, even if it took longer than they might have expected. When they raced through the first set it looked as if they would cruise to victory but in the end, the way they shrugged off the loss of the second set to eventually clinch a convincing triumph gave captain John Lloyd more pleasure than if they had breezed home.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Efficient Power Conversion Corporation (EPC) today introduced a family
of enhancement mode power transistors based on its proprietary gallium
nitride on Silicon technology.

Spanning a range of 40 Volts to 200 Volts, and 4 milliohms to 100
milliohms, these power transistors demonstrate significant performance
advantages over state-of-the-art silicon-based power MOSFETs. EPC’s
technology produces devices that are smaller than similar resistance
silicon devices and have many times superior switching performance.
Applications that benefit from this newly available performance are
DC-DC power supplies, point-of-load converters, Class-D audio
amplifiers, notebook and netbook computers, LED drive circuits, telecom
base stations and cell phones, to name just a few.

EPC’s enhancement mode (normally OFF) GaN technology was explicitly
developed to replace power MOSFETs. The products are produced in a
standard silicon CMOS foundry on 150mm (6 inch) silicon wafers. The use
of this low-cost infrastructure has allowed EPC to price the initial
product offerings aggressively in order to accelerate the conversion
from silicon power MOSFETs.

“EPC’s GaN on silicon power transistors represent the first major
breakthrough in power conversion technology since the development of the
commercial power MOSFET. We have developed a very cost effective and
reliable technology that is also very easy for anyone with power MOSFET
experience to use in a way that will significantly boost their power
management system performance,” said Alex Lidow, EPC’s co-founder and
Chief Executive Officer.

Edinburghs Standard Life and Glasgow engineer Weir Group will usher in a fresh era for corporate Scotland this week when their new chief executives both outline their visions for the future as they announce yearly trading results. The two bosses will stress that they have inherited their jobs from positions of strength with robust trading news, but will be expected to step out of the shadows left by their predecessors to announce their own plans for future expansion. That is because the groups share price has done little more than mark time over the past year despite the improved trading climate with brokers at Bank of America Merrill Lynch describing them as the “ugly ducklings” of the life assurance world. “The low level of expectations should work in Nishs favour if he comes up with the right noises on future expansion on Wednesday,” commented one analyst.
Tatyana Hristova * As a teen in Bulgaria I had the propensity to gain weight, and I was overweight by the time I reached my early 20s. In 2000 I was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a heart condition that can cause an extremely fast heart rate and trigger ventricular fibrillation, a leading cause of sudden cardiac death, and exercise wasnt recommended. Yet I was in physical pain due to my bodyweight of 200 pounds, and I felt even worse looking in the mirror. My best friend who worked out a lot helped me decide to start exercising in spite of my doctors advice. I began a fat-loss program in 2004 in which I worked up to 40-60 minutes of cardio six days a week and four weightlifting sessions weekly; I changed up my routine every two weeks and ate four strict meals a day. Now Im on a program to gain muscle, so I limit my cardio and eat more protein. I love to use free weights and try new workouts, and Ive added elements of martial arts to my training to make it more fun and challenging. Im healthier than ever–Ive lost 75 pounds of fat and gained 23 pounds of muscle–and my heart condition no longer exists. American physicians say my diet and exercise regimens helped immensely. Living and feeling healthy is my biggest achievement, and I hope to someday compete in bodybuilding. Now Im 36, and my fear of the gym has become a passion and an addiction. I thought I had reached the stars with my transformation, but then a German friend showed me how much more power I had inside. For all those who struggle with their weight, I say, “Theres no such thing as cant.” I just kept imagining the outcome I wanted to achieve and this motivated me to continue.
WHEREVER I went last week for a bite to eat I seemed to bump into a celebrity. Nicky Hilton sat next to me one day at the Fred Segal caf, while Geri Halliwells former movie producer lover Sacha Gervasi (and the father of Geris baby Bluebell) brought along an extremely attractive girl to eat on the other side of me. Then I was alongside Groundhog Day star Bill Murray at Cecconis the day before. KENDRA Wilkinson seems like a sensible lass. The former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner whose reality show Kendra is on E! Entertainment, says she doesnt want her newborn son Hank growing up in front of the cameras. She told me: “People already ask if I think hes going to be a sports star like my husband or an actor or something. I want him to decide what he wants to be. The reality show will stop – I dont want him growing up for everyone to see.”

Refractive surgery, mainly laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), is widely used to correct refractive errors, mainly myopia. It consists of producing a corneal flap, ablating the underlying corneal stroma using laser energy, and repositioning the flap without suturing it to the underlying stroma. Under local sub-conjunctival anaesthesia the flap was irrigated, cleaned, repositioned and sutured. Methylprednisolone and gentamicin were injected subconjunctivally, and the eye was closed for 24 hours. The following day the eye was quiet with a visual acuity of 6/9 and the subsequent course was uneventful. After a LASIK procedure the flap adheres to the corneal stroma because of the action of the endothelial pump and because the epithelium grows over the flaps margin. Scarring and fibrosis occur only at the flaps margin. (1) Early and late complications are mainly haloes, glare, star-burst and dry eye. A dreaded complication is corneal ectasia. (2)

OneScreen Inc. (PINKSHEETS: OSCN), has been facilitating video syndication for movie and Broadway content across several Internet web sites. Based on the essence of the OneScreen Media Exchange, video content creators can generate revenue from syndicating content to publishers where advertisers are looking to place their campaigns. Movie and Broadway content is one of many supported category verticals on the OneScreen Media Exchange.

Network Global, a company that operates Broadway.tv, is currently featured on out-of-home television screens in New York City taxi cabs and is now syndicating through the OneScreen Media Exchange. ZAMM.com, a content portal founded by Martin Grove and partnered with Alloy Media for monetization, has also chosen to syndicate movie review content through OneScreen. Moviezen.com, one of the worlds most comprehensive resource for movies with a thriving community of cinema lovers, is also one of the first web publishers to enable movie review content from the Media Exchange among their many movie reviews, celebrity and movie news, photos, and videos. Monetization is provided by advertising networks, including Tremor Media, Scanscout, and Adify Network NCM (National CineMedia). These advertising networks provide targeted video and display advertising with both content creators and publishers sharing in the revenue.

These content providers and publishers are all utilizing OneScreens Media Sites video integration, which provides them instant-on video capabilities without the need to change existing properties or manage complex implementations. The Media Player integration provides advertising network and server optimization and is fully integrated into playlist management provided by OneScreen. These sites are found at videos.broadway.tv, videos.zamm.com, and videos.moviezen.com. “Implementation and customization continues to be an important need of our clients,” stated Spencer Scott, Chief Revenue Officer of OneScreen. “We satisfy this need with robust products that can easily adapt to maximize revenue generation efforts.”

“Since the launch of our OneScreen Media Exchange from its closed beta, we have been seeing significant traction across many verticals,” stated Atul Patel, Chief Executive Officer of OneScreen. “Content companies are joining our exchange at a rapid pace, providing publishers more ways to engage and monetize their users, and offering advertisers better ways to target their messaging to the right audience, at the right place, and against the right content.” OneScreen continues to build enablement technology for all platforms, including Internet, IPTV, mobile, and out-of-home, allowing all the parties to take full advantage of the trends in digital video.

In todays challenging economy, businesses are looking for an advantage to help them pull out of the recession and avoid losses, layoffs, or worse. Companies are focusing on a single task — increasing sales. To help businesses learn how to quickly implement powerhouse direct mail marketing campaigns proven to sell, Modern Postcard is providing an exclusive opportunity to learn the tools, tricks and techniques behind capturing better leads for new customers and driving increased revenues. The Direct Mail Crash Course , a national seminar series, will be presented in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) where attendees will receive new and proven strategies to increase business leads and revenues.

Direct mail is one of the most effective types of advertising a business can do today. According to the Mail Moment™ research gathered by the USPS, 98 percent of consumers bring in the mail the day it is delivered; and according to the Direct Marketing Association, direct marketing yields an average return on investment of over 1100 percent based on the lifetime value of a new customer. Attendees will learn how to make these numbers a reality in their own marketing.

With the new technologies available in direct marketing, todays smart marketers are learning how to better integrate new media and social media marketing, including Facebook, Twitter and other social networks, with traditional mass media, print and direct mail campaigns to maximize the effectiveness of their advertising dollars. Lead generation and customer acquisition is one of the most coveted aspects of marketing, but it must be successfully targeted to the right customers. Direct marketing can bring a company excellent results — quality lead generation for increased sales and revenues.

These unique seminars will include a complete buffet breakfast and commence in San Jose with additional stops in San Francisco and Sacramento as follows:

According to the U.S. Postal Services Household Diary study released in August 2009 advertising mail spending was at $59.7 billion in 2008, accounting for 22 percent of all advertising spending and ranked only below television.

Those presenting include a group of top direct mail experts with over 50 years of combined experience in the direct marketing industry. Keith Goodman is a 20-year direct marketing veteran who has helped companies such as IBM, Hughes and Amway increase their direct mail profitability and achieve greater return on investment for their marketing dollars. Dan Anglin, a list development expert, has 10 years of data experience and has worked with Fortune 500 firms such as Microsoft, AOL and Time Warner. Arnie Cohen has assisted businesses in effectively executing mailings for 23 years and will focus on improving mail delivery and reducing postage costs. Cohen is active in various industry groups and heavily involved with new U.S. Postal Service technological advances.

“Marketers often do not realize how critical data is to the success of their direct mail campaigns,” said Dan Anglin, a seminar co-presenter, “and there are so many new data products available on the market that it is hard to understand when to use the different solutions. We walk the attendees through everything they need to know to tackle even complex projects such as modeling their existing database to identify prospects that most resemble their best existing customers.

There will be a special presentation from the USPS that will also provide attendees with insight into what the postal service can do to help local businesses with their mailing and shipping needs.

Now the Scottish National Heritage Trust, which supplied all the 53 golden eagles for the reintroduction project here, says enough is enough. Lorcan OToole, co-ordinator of the Golden Eagle Trust based in scenic Glenveagh National Park in Co Donegal, says he is devastated by the latest poisoning. EDINBURGH financiers hopes of reinventing Lloyds TSB Scotland as an independent Scottish-headquartered bank look likely to be dashed because parent Lloyds Banking Group is providing billions of pounds to fund loans to customers, the Sunday Herald can reveal. The latest accounts of Lloyds TSB Scotland, run in recent years by Susan Rice, show its loans to customers exceeded deposits by more than pound(s)5 billion at the end of 2008. Loans, at pound(s)11.6bn, were nearly double customer deposits of pound(s)6.5bn. The vast bulk of this gap is plugged by loans from Lloyds Banking Group. Ben Thomson, who headed Edinburgh investment bank Noble, has been fronting the group of financiers looking at Lloyds TSB Scotland. Leith Robertson, former deputy chief executive of RBSs global banking and markets division, is, like Mr Mathewson, believed to have had some involvement, along with other senior figures in the Scottish financial community. Mr Mathewson is chairman of First Minister Alex Salmonds Council of Economic Advisers. Mr Thomson is also said to be close to Mr Salmond.

Researchers from Australia, Baylor University (Waco, Texas) and Tasmania teamed up to study the effects of creatine monohydrate administered five days before and 14 days after a standardized lower-body resistance-training session (four sets of 10 reps of the eccentric-only leg press, leg extension and leg curl). Five days before exercise, subjects took about 20 grams of creatine and 84 grams of glucose or a placebo. Fourteen days later, they took about 7 grams of creatine and 28 grams of glucose or a placebo. The effects of creatine were dramatic: a 21% greater recovery of strength and 84% less muscle damage compared to the placebo group. This study underscores the importance of daily creatine supplementation, especially on “off” days, to accelerate recovery from intense weight training.

The Fraser Institute, one of Canadas leading public policy think-tanks, today released its annual report card on Ontario elementary schools, an invaluable tool for comparing the academic performance of schools across the province.

“The report card is the only easily accessible, objective tool that helps parents assess the performance of their childs school,” said Peter Cowley, Fraser Institute director of school performance studies.

The report card measures whether academic performance in a school is improving or declining. It allows parents to compare schools based on key demographic factors such as parental income or number of ESL students, and it shows the number of students not meeting provincial standards in reading, writing, and arithmetic.

“These detailed results provide parents with the information they need to ask the principal at their childrens school important questions about a schools performance,” Cowley said.

“In the spirit of encouraging academic excellence, the report card also offers educators the ability to compare the academic performance of their school to others with similar characteristics, helping them identify areas in which improvement can be made.”

Icelands president yesterday called on Gordon Brown to show statesmanship and agree a reduction in the multi-million-pound bill his country faces to compensate Britain for lost deposits of the failed internet bank Icesave. Opinion polls suggest that as many as three-quarters of Icelanders would vote No to paying pound(s)2.3 billion to Britain and pound(s)1.2bn to the Dutch in yesterdays referendum. The Reykjavik parliament approved the payments to compensate for funds the British and Dutch governments paid out to about 340,000 investors in Icesave. SALT LAKE CITY — The way David Lacy tells it, he opened the door on an early June morning to find guns pointing his way. But federal agents who testified Tuesday in U.S. District Court said they were stationed on the other side of the high school teachers home and didnt know whether guns were drawn. Lacy was indicted in May 2009 on nine counts of selling, stealing or offering to sell a number of archeological artifacts, including a turkey feather blanket, a basket mat fragment, a female apron/loin cloth, one complete woven sandal and two partial woven sandals believed to have been taken in violation of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. The sting that netted Lacy was the culmination of a 21/2-year investigation conducted by the FBI and Bureau of Land Management that named several prominent community members from the southern Utah town of Blanding. He was arrested following police interviews and a search of his home on June 10.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Idera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDRA) today presented data on the
mechanism of action of IMO-3100, an antagonist of Toll-like Receptor
(TLR) 7 and TLR9, in a preclinical primate model at the Keystone
Symposia conference “Tolerance and Autoimmunity” being held February
21-26 in Taos, New Mexico. Idera is developing IMO-3100 for the
treatment of autoimmune diseases. The presentation entitled “IMO-3100, a
novel antagonist, suppresses TLR7- and TLR9-mediated immune responses in
non-human primates” was made by Idera scientists. The data presented
showed that subcutaneous administration of IMO-3100 suppressed TLR7- and
TLR9-mediated immune responses in primates, reducing production of
cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interferon-alpha
(IFN-α), IP-10, and IL-6.

“We are very encouraged to have demonstrated the mechanism of action for
IMO-3100 in the primate model, and we have incorporated a similar
pharmacodynamic evaluation in our Phase 1 clinical trial in addition to
safety assessment,” said Tim Sullivan, Ph.D., Vice President,
Development Programs. “We expect that the pharmacokinetic and
pharmacodynamic results from the ongoing rising single-dose clinical
trial will facilitate the initiation of subsequent clinical trials of
IMO-3100 in autoimmune diseases.”

In the studies presented today, the mechanism of action of IMO-3100,
which is inhibition of TLR7- and TLR9-mediated immune responses, was
evaluated in non-human primates. IMO-3100 was administered to cynomolgus
monkeys by subcutaneous injection. Blood samples were taken prior to
IMO-3100 administration and at 24-hour intervals through 96 hours after
dosing and at one week after dosing, using blood collection sites remote
from the injection site. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were
isolated from the blood samples and cultured in the presence of TLR7 or
TLR9 agonists. Cytokines and chemokines in supernatants from the cell
cultures were measured by multiplex assay. Cytokine and chemokine
induction in PBMC cultures was compared between samples collected prior
to and after IMO-3100 dose administration. Results demonstrated that
IMO-3100 inhibited induction of cytokines and chemokines, including
TNF-α, IFN-α, IP-10, and IL-6. This inhibition was dependent on both the
dosage of IMO-3100 administered and the time after administration of
IMO-3100. IMO-3100 inhibition was specific to TLR7 and TLR9, with no
significant reduction in cytokine levels inducted in PBMCs cultured with
TLR4 or TLR8 agonists.

IMO-3100 is a DNA-based antagonist of Toll-like Receptor (TLR) 7 and
TLR9, and has been shown in preclinical studies to suppress immune
responses mediated through TLR7 and TLR9, including induction of IFN-α,
TNF-α, IP-10, IL-6, and activation of B cells. Studies from independent
researchers have suggested that immune complexes involved in certain
autoimmune diseases induce inflammatory responses mediated through TLR7
and TLR9. Blocking these responses using a TLR antagonist represents an
innovative approach to the treatment of autoimmune diseases. In
preclinical mouse models of autoimmune diseases including lupus,
rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis, IMO-3100 has shown potent activity
in reducing pathologic and immunologic manifestations of disease. Idera
continues to evaluate IMO-3100 and other TLR antagonist drug candidates
in preclinical models of autoimmune, inflammatory, and hyperlipidemia
diseases.

(NYSE Amex: NLP) – NTS Realty Holdings
Limited Partnership (the “Company”) announced today that the board of
directors of its managing general partner, NTS Realty Capital, Inc.,
approved a quarterly distribution of $0.05 per unit on the Companys
limited partnership units. The distribution will be paid on January 15,
2010 to limited partners of record at the close of business on December 31,
2009.

Distributions to limited partners are made in accordance with the Companys
distribution policy as described in its most recent annual report on Form
10-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 31, 2009.
The Company previously indicated that its distributions in 2009 have been
reduced in comparison to the distributions made in corresponding quarters
of 2008 primarily because of uncertainties concerning real estate taxes
payable for three of the Companys properties located in Marion County,
Indiana. The Company successfully appealed the tax assessments for these
properties for the assessment year 2006. However, shortly after the
Company prevailed in its appeal, the taxing authority imposed new
assessments for the assessment year 2007 at values similar to those that
existed prior to the Companys successful appeals. The Company has filed
appeals for the newly assessed amounts, but does not expect the appeals to
be resolved until 2010. Additionally, the overall condition of the U.S.
economy, although not currently presenting any specific significant concern
to the Company, continues to have the potential to adversely affect the
Companys operations. Due to the continued uncertainty of the real estate
tax situation and the ongoing uncertainty related to U.S. economic trends
and events, credit market volatility and predicted high unemployment in
many markets in which we operate our properties, the board of directors of
the Companys managing general partner approved the aforementioned fourth
quarter distribution in an amount consistent with the first, second and
third quarter distributions in 2009.

A spokesperson for the Company indicated that, “Although the Company
currently expects to continue its conservative philosophy with respect to
distributions in the first quarter of 2010, the amount of any future
distributions will be subject to the performance of the Companys
properties, its potential acquisitions and dispositions, the need for cash
reserves and other factors, including, but not limited to the continued
volatility being exhibited in the global financial markets and the U.S.
economy and the outcome of the pending tax appeals. In addition, the
actual amount and timing of all future distributions must be approved by
the managing general partners board of directors.”

The Company directly, as a tenant in common with unaffiliated co-owners, or
as a majority joint venture partner with an affiliate, currently owns
twenty-four properties comprised of fourteen multifamily properties, seven
office buildings and business centers and three retail properties. The
properties are located in and around Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky,
Nashville and Cordova, Tennessee, Richmond, Virginia, Fort Lauderdale and
Orlando, Florida, Indianapolis, Indiana and Atlanta, Georgia. The
Companys limited partnership units are listed on the NYSE – Amex platform
under the trading symbol of “NLP.”

(NYSE Amex: NLP) – NTS Realty Holdings
Limited Partnership (the “Company”), through 8 newly formed wholly-owned
subsidiaries, has executed a Mortgage Loan Application (the “Application”)
with Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P. (”HFF”) for 8 mortgage loans under The
Federal Home Loan Mortgage Company (”Freddie Mac”) CME Program to refinance
the Companys existing mortgage loans in the aggregate amount of $140.0
million from The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company
(”Northwestern”). The Northwestern loans are scheduled to mature in the
first quarter of 2015 and are secured by the Companys Park Place, Willow
Lake and Willows of Plainview properties located in Louisville, Kentucky,
its Lake Clearwater and Castle Creek properties located in Indianapolis,
Indiana, its Grove at Whitworth and Grove at Richland properties located in
Nashville, Tennessee and its Grove at Swift Creek property located in
Richmond, Virginia (the “Eight Properties”). Under the terms of the
Application, it is intended that the new loans from HFF/Freddie Mac will be
secured by the Eight Properties, be in the approximate aggregate amount of
$156.0 million, carry a 5.40% fixed rate of annual interest, have a 30-year
amortization and a 10-year term, which would extend the maturity date of
the debt on the Eight Properties by an additional 5 years beyond the
current maturity dates. Additionally, the Company has made deposits with
HFF of approximately $3.2 million for the purpose of paying underwriting,
application and commitment fees and to secure an early rate lock for the
loans. The unapplied deposits may be partially refundable to the Company
under certain circumstances in the event the loans are not completed.

The Company intends to use the proceeds of the new loans, in part, to
retire the Northwestern loans (together with a prepayment premium in an
amount equal to 3% of the aggregate outstanding principal balance of the
Northwestern loans), to pay down the Companys line of credit from PNC
Bank, National Association, and to provide funds for working capital and

Chia seeds are good sources of antioxidants, fiber and omega-3 fats. Word has it that chia seeds were the basic survival ration for Aztec warriors because 1 tablespoon could sustain an individual for 24 hours. Many Internet sources claim these seeds can enhance energy levels, balance blood sugar and promote weight loss.
I WAS very saddened to read of the death of Michael Foot (left). While no one could argue that 96 is not a good innings, he will be much missed.

Watsonians trotted out on to the Philiphaugh pitch almost five minutes before Selkirk joined them, but the Edinburgh side lagged behind their Borders opponents in almost every other regard. Most critically, they trailed them at the finish on the scoreboard, a result that makes it more and more likely that Myreside will not be playing host to top-tier rugby next season. It wasnt as if Selkirk were inclined to strangle the life out of the game either. They play with an uplifting gusto at times, but have a maddening habit of going right off the boil as well. They left the door open for Watsonians on a couple of occasions, and would almost certainly have been punished by a better side. Still, they will be delighted with the points that could make a critical contribution towards keeping them in the Premiership for another season. Selkirk also added icing to their cake when Lee Jones, the winger who turned out for the Barbarians against Bedford last week, made a sizzling break to the left corner to score the try that earned them, a bonus point. It is still tight enough in the lower reaches of the division for such things to be significant, so they deserve huge credit for sticking to their task right to the death. The game had begun in equally dramatic fashion when home fly- half Gavin Craig shot through a gap in the Watsonians defence near the 10-metre line and jinked and shimmied another 40 metres for a marvellous individual try.
SIMEON JACKSON scored in each half to ease Gillinghams relegation fears. The Terriers got off to a nightmare start when they conceded after seven minutes as Jackson lashed home from the edge of the box.

Dear Dr. Gott: During the latter part of 2007, I was diagnosed with metastatic bladder cancer. My doctors recommended chemotherapy treatments from November 2007 to May 2008. I underwent surgery in June 2008 for removal of the bladder, prostate and two lymph nodes. In July, my kidneys failed, and that, too, was successfully treated. So far, so good. I am doing fine and have regained my weight back to 216 pounds. Unfortunately, the surgery has left me with numb feet — no pain, just numb. After several doctor visits, including trips to a neurologist, podiatrist and neurosurgeon, I have been told that this is a side effect from the chemotherapy. I would like to know whether you or any readers could recommend something that might help me. I read your articles every day and hope there is something someone can suggest to improve my condition. I do realize that I have been blessed to overcome this medical condition with only numbness in my feet as a residual. Dear Reader: Yes, you certainly have a lot for which to be grateful. To be a cancer survivor and to reverse or stabilize kidney failure is a testimony to your constitution and the superb care you received from your team of physicians.

The 2009 American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Foundation Annual Meeting OTO EXPO, held this year in San Diego, was the site of a presentation of research conducted at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston which found a protective effect for the B vitamin folate against the development of hearing loss in older men.* Over the course of the follow-up, 3,559 men developed hearing loss. Although no association was noted between the condition and other vitamin intake, men over 60 whose intake of folate from food and supplements was among the highest 20% of participants had a 21% reduction in the risk of developing hearing loss compared with those in the lowest fifth. The intake of alcohol, which can impede the bioavailability of folate, did not impact the relationship observed between folate intake and hearing loss, however, men whose alcohol intake was highest had a reduced risk of hearing loss with greater vitamin B12 intake. The investigation is the first large epidemiologic study to prospectively examine the relation between diet and hearing loss. “The association between folate intake and incident hearing loss in our cohort is consistent with previous data showing that folic acid supplementation slowed the decline in low frequency hearing in older adults,” the authors write. “A possible explanation for the impact of age on the relation between folate intake and hearing loss is the increased prevalence of folate malabsorption and folate depletion in the older age group. Higher folic acid intake may be necessary to meet the optimal folate needs in this age group.”

LEICESTER 35 LONDON IRISH 19 TOBY FLOODS hopes of ripping the No10 jersey off Jonny Wilkinsons back were dealt a blow at Welford Road. The Tigers star sustained an injury during this comprehensive win over Irish – ruining his latest chance to shine in front of Martin Johnson. The England Team Manager looked on as Flood sat with his head in his hands in the dugout, despairing at his unfortunate latest injury setback. He had taken an off-the-ball blow in the first half, and finally withdrew after the break unable to continue. Tigers scored four tries to increase their lead over Northampton at the top of the Guinness Premiership.

A FREAK hailstorm hit Melbourne yesterday causing widespread damage and flooding. Horse-racing was cancelled as hail buried the course. LEICESTER 35 LONDON IRISH 19 TOBY FLOOD gave England an injury scare as he took a bash on the head during the crushing win over London Irish. But the Tigers fly-half should recover in time to take his expected place on the bench in Saturdays Calcutta Cup clash at Edinburgh. Flood -aiming to shine in front of watching Martin Johnson -lost his chance to impress because of a first-half collision. It was a pity for Flood, who is so desperate to rip the No.10 jersey off Jonny Wilkinsons back. But Flood kicked two penalties and two conversions before going off, leaving his teammates to steal the show. Tries from Alesana Tuilagi (above), Scott Hamilton, Martin Castrogiavanni and George Chuter gave Tigers a bonus point win and stretched their lead at the top of the table over Northampton.
FARGO, N.D. — Salesmen in Fargo are hawking products with names like the Muscle Wall and the Sandbagging Buddy. Emergency workers in Keokuk, Iowa, are planning to barricade the water treatment plant with limestone boulders. The farmers cooperative in Quincy, Ill., is moving grain inland to keep it dry. Spring could bring disastrous flooding again to the Upper Midwest, government forecasters are warning. And folks along the Red, the Mississippi and the Missouri rivers are taking precautions, especially after calamities last year and the year before. The National Weather Service said heavy snow cover and ground that is already saturated could lead to severe flooding in as little as a few weeks. Exactly how severe will depend on how fast the snow melts and how heavy the spring rains are. In Fargo and neighboring Moorhead, Minn., an area of about 200,000 people, the chances of major flooding were projected Friday at about 90 percent. The probability of record flooding was put at 19 percent. Elsewhere across the Upper Midwest, the threat is less dire but still serious.

First came Hurricane Katrina and many more followed, then L.A.s massive Station Fire, followed by the Haitian and Chilean earthquakes . In between, tornados , floods and massive snowstorms have caused the loss of lives and massive property damage . According to scientists who study global warming, these are just a few of the natural disasters predicted in the years ahead. While we may not be able to stop disasters from occurring, disaster recovery expert Steve Slepcevic says better preparation will help us survive and recover.

Slepcevic is president and founder of Paramount Disaster Recovery , Inc., a leading nationwide disaster response and recovery contracting company. Since 1989, Paramount has completed over 2,000 disaster restoration projects nationally. The companys team includes licensed contractors, certified industrial hygienists, structural engineers, and architects who are able to identify structural and hazardous material problems that insurance claim adjusters may overlook due to lack of training, experience or licensing.

Since the best approach is in offsetting damage, Slepcevic recommends a few simple steps to help properties withstand the onslaught of extreme weather. This includes a periodic roof inspection and the clearing of scuppers and gutters to avoid roof collapse before winter approaches. He notes, “There are over 3,000 roof collapses each year in the U.S., resulting in over 20 deaths and a widespread disruption of business operations.”

Preparation of a Family Communication Plan is key to surviving any disaster. Says Slepcevic, “In the plan, list who to contact in the event of an emergency and ways to do so should normal communications be disrupted or family members get separated. In addition, each family member should have a 5-day Disaster Kit for their vehicle with food, water, clothing and additional emergency supplies.”

Additionally, he recommends that every family draw up an Emergency Evacuation Plan with a location to meet outside the city limits, should roads become inaccessible or their home become uninhabitable. They should also designate an emergency phone number for messages to be left every 4 to 8 hours, as needed.

Deduction Qualifications Eased for 2009 with National Relief Program

LOS ANGELES — An often-overlooked deduction may help turn a major property-casualty
loss into a tax time gain. The standard deduction for unreimbursed
casualty and theft losses allows taxpayers to include certain uninsured
property losses among their itemized deductions.

In the past, qualifying for the disaster loss deduction meant that the
taxpayer had to have sustained substantial financial losses. Insurance
deductibles or gaps in insurance coverage — from fire, flooding or
earthquake, for example — could qualify for tax deductions.

For a short time, however, homeowners with losses from any federally-declared
disaster may also qualify for additional benefits under federal
legislation available only for the 2008 and 2009 tax years. The National
Disaster Relief Act of 2008 allows all taxpayers, not just those who
itemize, to claim a deduction for catastrophe losses regardless of their
income level. The legislation also eliminates the requirement that
taxpayers qualify for the deduction only if the disaster loss exceeds 10
percent of their adjusted gross income, plus $500. If the property is a
trade or a business, slightly different rules may apply, so it’s
important to seek assistance from a qualified tax preparer.

MILLIONS of us will face higher phone bills from next month as BT and Virgin Media put up their prices. Changes to the cost of calls, monthly line rental charges and times when “free” calls can be made are all going to affect how much we are paying. And they make it all the more important that customers do their research before choosing which provider and package to take. From April 1, Virgin is increasing its monthly line rental by 99p to pounds 11.99. Calls made outside of a call plan time are also going up by 1p, with the cost of daytime calls going up from 6.5p to 7.5p a minute.
Customers renting a midsize car from Hertz (NYSE: HTZ) any day of the week in Manhattan between now and April 30, 2010 will receive a low rate of $79 per day along with a free tank of gas. For compact cars, the rental rate is $74 per day and full size cars are $84 per day.

Rental pickups are available in any of Hertzs 14 Manhattan locations and can be returned to any Manhattan location as well as the three area airports — Newark International Airport, LaGuardia International Airport, and JFK International Airport.

A PARKED car with two girls inside exploded in flames early yesterday when one of them lit a cigarette. The pair, aged 19 and 20 years, suffered severe burns to their hands and faces as they escaped from the blazing vehicle. It is believed their Ford Fiesta had a ruptured fuel line and when one of lit up it caused leaking fumes to ignite.
A DRIVER died yesterday when his car was hit by a train at a level crossing. It is thought he deliberately stopped as the barriers were coming down. The train hit the car and dragged it under the wheels. An emergency service source said: “Everybody at the scene is leaning towards this being a deliberate act rather than a horrible accident.” Neighbours in Wokingham, Berkshire, described hearing a loud noise as the train slammed into the car.

NEW Doctor Who Matt Smith has split from his long-term girlfriend. Matt, 27, who makes his debut as the Timelord at Easter, is now single after ending his long-distance romance with Brazilian singer Mayana Mauro, 27. Asked if the couple, who began dating two years ago, were still together, the star said: “No, no, no, no.” Matt, who will be the youngest actor yet to play the part, went on to describe co-star Karen Gillan, who plays the Doctors assistant, as “very beautiful”.
THE Queen has agreed to host a public pop concert at her Sandringham estate. Will Young will sing on August 7 in what is expected to be a sell- out show. Last year thousands attended a concert there by opera singer Katherine Jenkins. But Will, who won TVs Pop Idol in 2002, will be the first pop star to perform at the 20,000-acre Norfolk estate. Buckingham Palace said the Queen would be unlikely to attend as she does not normally visit Sandringham in August.
The virtuosity was unanticipated. AC Milans renown centered on the stringency of their defence. It was Barcelona, managed by Johan Cruyff and with Romario and Hristo Stoichkov up front, who were held up as the definition of beauty. The 1994 European Cup defied expectation. All the same, the final was an apogee for Milan. Capello took charge of the team in 1991, after Arrigo Sacchi had enforced a revolution. Sacchi dispensed with the idea of catenaccio and arranged his team around the concepts of compressing space and pressuring opponents high up the field. The attacking flair was unnerving to Italian football. With Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten central figures, Sacchis Milan won the 1989 and 1990 European Cups. The approach was engrossing, but physically demanding and, like Sacchi, the team began to weary. The arrival of Capello was a stark amendment. A former youth coach at Milan, he was managing one of Silvio Berlusconis firms when the club owner summoned him to take charge at the San Siro. An authoritarian, who imposed a stern regime of discipline and order, Capello renewed the clubs eminence. Even his own instincts were tightly governed.

It was strange. I had just been hired as an editor for Triathlete magazine in the spring of 1994, and as I leafed through a decade of back issues I noticed that triathlon superstar Mark Allen seemed to be growing more muscular as he aged. What was happening? “I was lifting weights,” replied the then-soon-to-be six-time winner of the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. “It seemed like all this relentless swim/bike/run was wearing down my muscles and fatiguing me by the end of the season–just when I needed to peak for Kana [Ironman]. So a few years ago, I started weightlifting in season. Now I feel much stronger all year long.” Although that wouldnt raise the eyebrows of any regular reader of MUSCLE FITNESS, it was a revelation to me at the time. It was gospel back then that hours upon hours of cardio workouts were the key to longevity, vitality and a fitter physique. You mean excessive aerobic activity can actually wear you down? It didnt occur to me that getting enough calories to prevent catabolism is a real issue among ultra-distance athletes, as are hormonal imbalances from the freakishly long hours of physical stress. Back then, two-time Ironman winner Scott Tinley was telling everyone that a decade of running 100 miles and cycling 300 miles every week had blown his adrenal glands. He hadnt been competitive in years. Some superfit tri-women looked gaunt and wasted; many, it turned out, were no longer menstruating. Tales of heart arrhythmias and sickness abounded. Yes, aerobic activity is good for you, burning calories and strengthening the heart and cardiovascular system. But while the American College of Sports Medicine (Indianapolis) recommends 30 minutes of it six days a week, elite endurance athletes were going hard for 25-30 hours a week. At some point–with the number of athletes experiencing shriveling muscle mass, illnesses and scrambled hormones growing–I had to wonder: Can there be too much of a good thing? Yes, says Kenneth Cooper, MD, the Air Force physician who watched his 1968 best seller Aerobics (Bantam Books) launch a fitness revolution.

Many also are raising children or supporting their Generation Y children, making them part of the sandwich generation.

The sandwich generation may find relief in the form of tax breaks. The $3,650 qualifying relative exemption can help buffer expenses related with supporting parents. Non-relative qualifying dependents also may allow supporters to claim expenses associated with their care. Transcendentist Berkeley, Pure Dental Dallas and ORA Dental Studio Chicago became the organizations first recipients of GreenDOC certification.

The GreenDOC™ Product Guide is the industrys comprehensive listing of products and services that green dental offices need to go green and stay green. The EDA has sourced the products and services that share a vision for clean, green dentistry, making it easy for dental professionals to achieve earth friendly initiatives. Products and services appear in one or more of the following GreenDOC™ categories: Sustainable Location; Waste Reduction; Pollution Prevention; Energy Conservation; Water Conservation; Patient Care, Workplace Policies, and Community Contribution; Leadership, and Innovation.

Combined, the GreenDOC™ Product Guide and GreenDOC™ Checklist provide dentists with the first key steps to greening their dental practice. “Where do I start, and what products do I use? These are the two most common requests we receive from dental professionals,” said Susan Beck, Director of the Eco-Dentistry Association. “Used together, the GreenDOC ™ Product Guide and Checklist make the perfect going green starter kit for dental professionals.”

Additional components of the GreenDOC™ Program lead dental practitioners through a rigorous but attainable certification program. GreenDOC™ “How To” Guides, Action Plans and Worksheets make it simple for dental professionals to meet specific goals to achieve Bronze, Silver, or Gold Certification. As a part of the programs international launch, the EDA encourages dental offices to register to be one of the 1st 100 certified offices and become a Charter-Certified Office.

* Ive been a diehard fan of MF for more than 10 years, and I want to thank you for all your hard work and dedication to staying healthy and looking good. Im currently in the U.S. Navy on deployment in the Persian Gulf. Ive served for five years as a gas turbine systems mechanic, and right now Im on the USS John Paul Jones (DDG53), a guided-missile destroyer. When I pick up a new issue of MF, Im so motivated to get in the gym and try out one of your novel workouts or programs. Every issue seems to be unique and focuses on different bodyparts, workouts or diet information. This is what I rely on to inspire me to be bigger, stronger and faster. Even though I have very limited time and equipment when Im out on the water, each week I lift weights six days and mix in four days of cardio. I do a lot of explosive training such as uphill wind sprints, box jumps and jump rope. I love the feeling of squatting a bunch of weight. I get the most satisfaction out of pushing my body to its limits. Your advice is much appreciated and keeps me at the top of my game. Im 64″ and 235 pounds at 5% bodyfat.

Chartwell Seniors Housing Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: CSH.UN) announced today results for the three months and year ended December 31, 2009.

2009 HIGHLIGHTS:

Same property net operating income (”NOI”) decreased $0.3 million or 0.7% for the quarter ended December 31, 2009 compared to the same period last year. For the year ended December 31, 2009 same property NOI decreased $0.9 million or 0.5% compared to last year. The implementation of rent increases on renewal and turnover, increased ancillary revenues, and targeted cost reductions partially offset the negative impact of reduced occupancies, property and commodity tax increases, and a one-time increase in vacation and benefit cost estimates compared to the prior year. Same property occupancy was 91.8% in the fourth quarter of 2009, up 0.5 percentage points from the previous quarter of 2009 but down from 93.1% in last years fourth quarter. For the year ended December 31, 2009 same property occupancy was 91.6% compared to 93.3% in the prior year.

In the Canadian Retirement portfolio same property NOI decreased $1.0 million or 4.3% for the quarter ended December 31, 2009 compared to the same period last year. For the year ended December 31, 2009 same property NOI decreased $1.8 million or 1.8% compared to last year. The NOI declines are primarily attributable to lower occupancies, particularly in the British Columbia portfolio, as well as one-time increases in estimated liabilities for employee vacation and benefits recorded in the fourth quarter of 2009. Same property occupancies in Ontario were healthy at 93.1% in the fourth quarter of 2009, up from 92.1% in the third quarter of the year and lower than 94.1% in the fourth quarter of last year. Customer traffic and expected future arrivals maintained positive trends and management is optimistic that this improvement will translate into continued increases in occupancies in 2010. In addition, the spillover effect from significant waiting lists for long-term care beds in the province should continue supporting the increased demand for retirement suites. Performance in the Quebec portfolio continues to show steady growth with same property average occupancy improving to 88.6% in the fourth quarter of 2009, up from 87.8% in the third quarter of 2009 and from 85.5% in the fourth quarter of last year. In Western Canada, while Alberta occupancies remained strong, continued oversupply conditions in two British Columbia markets, combined with reduced occupancies at one long-term care community, resulted in same property occupancies declining to 90.3% in the fourth quarter of 2009 from 91.0% in the third quarter of 2009 and 95.0% in the fourth quarter of the prior year.

Poor diet and lack of sleep can make us feel fatigued and run-down, but what most people dont know is how basic stressors can tax our immune system, making us vulnerable to diseases and conditions we never thought were related.

Thats what Dr. Sherrill Sellman, a Naturopathic Doctor, thinks people need to understand in order to safeguard their health.

“We leave our immune systems open to attack every day by doing things we shouldnt,” she said. “We eat way too much sugar and refined carbohydrates, we dont get enough sleep, we dont get enough sun and we take antibiotics at the first sniffle. Factors that impair the immune system include nutrient deficiencies, contaminated air, water and food, unhealthful lifestyles and too much exposure to harmful microbes. Sometimes the result is a condition that we dont even realize came about because of our poor habits.”

Dr. Sellman knows that all these behaviors could lead to a wide variety of conditions, including:

ATLANTA — The U.S. Small Business Administration announces today that federal
economic injury disaster loans are available to small businesses, small
agricultural cooperatives and most private non-profit organizations of
all sizes located in Michigan as a result of excessive rain,
flooding, flash flooding, hail, lightning, tornadoes and high winds that
occurred from April 1, 2009 through September 1, 2009.

The SBA’s disaster declaration includes the following counties: Alcona,
Alger, Allegan, Antrim, Arenac, Barry, Bay, Benzie, Berrien, Branch,
Calhoun, Cass, Chippewa, Clare, Crawford, Eaton, Genesee, Gladwin, Grand
Traverse, Gratiot, Hillsdale, Huron, Ingham, Ionia, Iosco, Isabella,
Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kalkaska, Kent, Lake, Lapeer, Leelanau, Lenawee,
Livingston, Luce, Mackinac, Macomb, Manistee, Mason, Mecosta, Midland,
Missaukee, Monroe, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oakland, Oceana, Ogemaw,
Osceola, Oscoda, Otsego, Ottawa, Roscommon, Saginaw, Saint Clair, Saint
Joseph, Sanilac, Schoolcraft, Shiawassee, Tuscola, Van Buren, Washtenaw,
Wayne and Wexford.

“When the Secretary of Agriculture issues a disaster declaration to help
farmers recover from damages and losses to crops, the Small Business
Administration issues a declaration to assist eligible entities affected
by the same disaster,” said Frank Skaggs, director of SBA’s Field
Operations Center East.

Under this declaration, the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program
is available to eligible farm-related and nonfarm-related entities that
suffered financial losses as a direct result of this disaster. Agricultural
producers, farmers and ranchers are not eligible to apply to SBA.

The loan amount can be up to $2 million with a 4 percent interest rate
and terms up to 30 years. The SBA determines eligibility based on the
size of the applicant, type of activity and its financial resources.
Loan amounts and terms are set by the SBA and are based on each
applicant’s financial condition. These working capital loans may be used
to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills that
could have been paid had the disaster not occurred. The loans are not
intended to replace lost sales or profits.

PARIS — Rescue workers in dinghies cruised flooded streets on Frances Atlantic coast Monday, searching for people still trapped in their homes by storms that smashed through concrete sea walls and killed at least 62 people across Western Europe. The storm, called Xynthia, blew into France early Sunday with hurricane-force winds, flooding ports, destroying homes and leaving 1 million households without electricity. It also battered Belgium, Portugal, Spain and parts of Germany and snarled train and air travel throughout the continent. Regional officials clamored for France to quickly reinforce its aging sea walls. About half the French death toll of 51 was attributed to the breach of the sea wall off the coastal town of LAiguillon-sur-Mer, known for its shellfish farms. Aerial photos taken near LAiguillon-sur-Mer showed scores of houses in water that nearly reached their red-tiled roofs.

* DELAYED-ONSET MUSCLE SORENESS (DOMS) is a double-edged sword. On one hand, muscle damage and soreness promote intracellular repair processes that make your muscles bigger and stronger. On the other hand, when DOMS is extreme, it can limit your range of motion and affect how often you train. Enter BounceBack, a blend of proteolytic enzymes, cur-cumin and phytosterols from avocado and soybean oils, resveratrol and vitamin C. Researchers from the UCLA School of Medicine (Los Angeles) recently reported that in a small study of 10 men and women, 30 days of BounceBack supplementation significantly reduced pain and tenderness induced by Smith machine squats. A small improvement in range of motion (knee flexion) was also noted, along with trends for decreases in serum markers of muscle damage. * CREATINE CONTINUES TO IMPRESS. In addition to improving muscle strength and size, bone health and even cognition in vegetarians, it now appears to help lifters recover their strength faster after a hard workout.

For every team registered, Shamrock Farms and Hoop It Up will make a donation to Coaches vs. Cancer, a subset of The American Cancer Society that uses college and high school basketball coaches to draw attention to cancer and how being active is a key step toward prevention.

Whether its raw and unpasteurized, organic or simply the cheapest jug in the grocery store, most in the iron game wont do without milk–and for good reason. As a sports drink, milk is practically unmatched in its beneficial effects on muscle growth and performance. A recent study on middle-age and older men appears to disprove Australian researchers who concluded that milk conferred no benefit on muscle size, lean mass or functional performance.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — AFRICAN QUEEN MINES LTD. (the “Company”) announces that it has
completed a thorough review of its portfolio of exploration properties
in Southern Africa. Based upon results of its work programs undertaken
over the past three years, it has elected to pare down its portfolio by
relinquishing certain gold permits and abandoning the Earn-In/JV with
Manica Minerals Ltd. (“Manica”), in order to concentrate its exploration
activities on its highest priority gold targets including the King
Solomon Project. It has also elected to abandon the Okavango Diamond
Project in Northwest Botswana to focus on its Tsau Diamond Project in
Western Botswana and its Namibia Diamond Project based upon
disappointing results from exploration at Okavango.

In this connection, the Company has now provided formal notice of
abandonment to Manica Minerals Ltd. (“Manica”) with respect to its
Earn-In/JV with Manica, which is the subject of the Letter Agreement
between the parties dated August 9, 2006, as supplemented on August 8,
2007 (collectively, the “Agreement”). Accordingly, the Company has
relinquished all rights with respect to Permit Nos. 957L, 958L and 959L,
covering approximately 450 sq. km. of gold and metals licenses in the
Fingoe region in western Mozambique. Said permits are adjacent to ground
covering approximately 230 sq. km. comprising the King Solomon Gold
Project, which is the subject of a separate Earn-In/JV agreement dated
July 10, 2009, with Swiss-based Opti Metal Trading Limited (“Optimetal”)
and has generated exceptional sampling and geophysics results to date,
which have been announced previously. A core drilling program is
scheduled to commence shortly at King Solomon.

Analysis of results of the Company’s field programs on the Manica ground
over the past three years, including stream, soil and rock samples,
suggested that the hard-rock source for gold anomalies found on such
ground actually originated on the King Solomon ground. Accordingly, the
Company entered into the agreement with Optimetal and is now abandoning
the Manica Fingoe Project. The Company is also continuing its
exploration work under an Agreement dated April 10, 2007, with African
Eagle Resources plc (AIM: AFE), under which the Company now holds a 98%
interest in a key permit covering 150 sq. km. adjacent to King Solomon
on the North.

The Company has also decided to abandon the Okavango Diamond Project,
which covers approximately 2592 sq. km on the recently recognized
southern extension of the Congo Craton in northwest Botswana. If
kimberlites were present within the property, they could be the source
of an important, but unexplained diamond-G10 garnet soil anomaly to the
southeast, near the village of Tsumkwe, in NE Namibia. High resolution
aeromagnetic data covering the property was screened, both in-house and
by an independent geophysical contractor, and numerous bulls-eye
magnetic anomalies were identified. Ground geophysics follow-up of
selected targets outlined coincident gravity anomalies associated with a
number of the magnetic bulls-eye features. Two phases of soil sampling
recovered kimberlitic ilmenites and less abundant garnets, including
some with diamond inclusion compositions, over some of the targets
investigated. These results were considered to provide considerable
encouragement for the existence of a proximal undiscovered kimberlite
field. Targets were ranked on a combination of the ground geophysics and
soil sampling results, and a total of 10 core holes were drilled into
the 7 top-ranking targets during 2009. Unfortunately, no kimberlites
were intersected, and all holes bottomed in mafic basement lithologies
at depths between 50-100m.

Amazing Amino Leucine is the MVP of aminos when it comes to building muscle and strength. It stimulates growth and is broken down in the body into numerous anabolic byproducts such as beta-hydroxy beta-meth-ylbutyrate and ketoisocaproate. New research is uncovering another metabolite of leucine that may have anabolic properties: alpha-HICA.
Chesapeake Gold Corp. (”Chesapeake”) (TSX VENTURE: CKG) and Christopher James Gold Corp. (”Christopher James”) (TSX VENTURE: CJG) are pleased to announce that a letter of intent has been signed today (March 4, 2010) for the proposed acquisition by Christopher James of Chesapeakes Talapoosa gold-silver property (”Talapoosa”) located in Nevada and the La Cecilia gold-silver property (”La Cecilia”) located in Sonora State, Mexico.

Pursuant to the terms of the letter of intent, Christopher James will acquire all of the issued shares of Chesapeakes wholly-owned subsidiary, American Gold Capital Corporation (which indirectly holds the Talapoosa property) and La Cecilia from Chesapeakes Mexican subsidiary, Minerales El Prado S.A. de C.V. Concurrent with the closing of the proposed transaction, the shares of Christopher James, subject to shareholder approval, will be consolidated on a 10:1 basis resulting in 5,524,475 post-consolidation shares (”Shares”) (6,161,975 Shares fully-diluted) being issued to the existing shareholders of Christopher James. If the proposed transaction with Chesapeake is approved, Christopher James will change its name to Gunpoint Exploration Ltd. and issue 18,485,924 post-consolidation shares to Chesapeake, representing approximately 75% of the outstanding shares of Christopher James on a fully diluted basis. The proposed transaction is an arms length transaction and will constitute a reverse takeover of Christopher James as defined by the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.

Christopher James is a Canadian mineral exploration company with a large portfolio of gold projects in Nevada and British Columbia. The Company has experienced technical management and over $1,500,000 in treasury to pursue its gold exploration properties. The acquisition of the Talapoosa and La Cecilia properties will strengthen and complement Christopher James recently optioned pipeline of Nevada gold exploration projects.

The Talapoosa project is a low-sulphidation stockwork/breccia hosted epithermal gold-silver deposit. Extensive exploration and development work has been completed including 71,000 meters of drilling along with metallurgical test work and environmental studies. In 1996 Miramar Mining Corporation cited a measured and indicated resource of 42.7 million tons of 0.025 opt gold (1.06 million ounces) and 0.34 opt silver (14.5 million ounces). This estimate is historical, predates National Instrument 43-101 and should not be relied upon for purposes of current classification. In addition to this historical resource, Chesapeake has identified two high-priority exploration targets on the Talapoosa property:

- Approximately 5 kilometers of potentially mineralized structure, associated with extensive hydrothermal alteration and outcropping hydrothermal breccias bodies containing epithermal vein fragments (presumably derived from underlying epithermal veins).
